This Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken Is As Good As Eating Out
1. First, throw your chopped chicken into the bottom of your slow cooker. In the meantime, whisk your soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, ginger and garlic together in a bowl. Once your sauce is well-combined, pour it over your chicken.
2. Next, set your slow cooker on low for four to five hours and let the mixture cook together.
3. When it’s done, take the chicken out. While your slow cooker is still warm, get a side bowl and mix together your cornstarch and warm water. Once that mixture is smooth, slowly pour it into your slow cooker and keep stirring the entire time you add to make a thick sauce.
4. Finally, throw your chicken back in the slow cooker and stir it all up to coat it in the teriyaki sauce. Once everything is all done, make some rice and serve with some sliced green onions on top!
As always, this slow cooker recipe is simple enough to make and tastes just as good as something you might order at a restaurant. Though the teriyaki chicken goes well with white rice, you can also mix it in with brown rice or even some noodles if you’d rather. The green onions are optional as well, though they do go very well with many different Chinese dishes.
With this recipe in mind, the idea behind bringing this all together can also be extended to making other dishes from your favorite restaurants. The base mixture of garlic, soy sauce and other mix-ins can be applied for other flavors with chicken or beef in the slow cooker. Once the first step is done, repeat the step of mixing cornstarch and water into the remains to make a sauce that will thicken up. Above all, have fun with it and tell us what you think.
