The best way to use castor oil for hair growth is by making a hair growth blend/serum with it.
Though you can use it on its own, it’s good to mix castor oil up with another oil of a lighter consistency since it is very thick and sticky for application. Oils I like mixing up with castor oil are:
- coconut oil,
- black seed oil,
- jojoba oil
- olive oil and
- grapeseed oil.
To boost hair growth by miles, also add essential oils good for hair growth such as:
- rosemary oil,
- lavender oil,
- thyme oil and
- cedarwood oil
You only need to add a few drops of essential oils to your castor oil mix because they are highly concentrated. For every 1 tsp of castor oil, add just 1-2 drops of essential oil.
“How Often Should I Use Castor Oil for Hair Growth?”
Use castor oil for hair growth just 1-2 times a week. It’s best to apply it as an overnight hair treatment then wash it off very well the next morning with a natural sulfate-free shampoo.
You don’t need to apply castor oil more than the times mentioned above because it is a very effective treatment for hair growth.
Plus, it is sticky and leaves your hair feeling greasy so you must wash your hair after every application. And if you apply castor oil too frequently, then you have to wash your hair often which is not good because for healthy hair, you should limit washing hair to at most every two days. Washing your hair very frequently is going to keep stripping off the natural oils needed for healthy hair production!
