DIY Pregnancy Test

Instant pregnancy tests that you buy at the pharmacy are convenient to use and are typically accurate.

But you may find yourself wondering what other options there are.

Maybe you can’t make it to the store, or perhaps you are just curious, but there are different ways of testing for pregnancy.

Before modern times, women did not have access to an instant pregnancy test, so instead, they used other methods to detect pregnancy.

There are several different ways to test pregnancy at home.

A DIY pregnancy test at home can detect pregnancy, although it should be recognized that these tests are not an actual reliable test.

For an accurate pregnancy test result, you should probably use an instant pregnancy test or have your blood tested.

But just for fun, let’s explore the different ways you can check for pregnancy at home.

Of course, these tests are not a genuinely accurate DIY pregnancy test, but they are still fun to do nonetheless.

What Happens In Early Pregnancy?

Before we test, let’s see if we can pin-point early pregnancy symptoms that may accompany a positive pregnancy test.

In early pregnancy, the fertilized egg is implanting into the walls of the uterus.

Once the fertilized egg has implanted, the uterus will continue to build a lining up in response to the pregnancy.

A menstrual cycle is when the lining of the uterus is shed due to there not being a pregnancy.

The first symptoms that people most commonly feel in early pregnancy can vary. However, these symptoms are typically felt early on in pregnancy:

‣ Bloating

‣ Nausea

‣ Metallic-like taste

‣ Increased urination frequency

‣ Breast tenderness

‣ Spotting

‣ Menstrual cycle cessation

The symptoms of early pregnancy should be noted because they often accompany a positive pregnancy test.

Some signs of early pregnancy can mimic the beginning of a menstrual cycle, such as bloating and spotting.

If you have these pregnancy symptoms, you will probably want to take a test to determine if you are pregnant or not.

Steps:

1. Collect the urine in a small container.

2.Mix bleach powder with the urine.

3. If the mixture begins to foam or fizz, it may indicate pregnancy.

This test works by causing the pregnancy hormones to react to the bleach.

However, having a lot of protein in your urine can cause this test to put off a positive test result, so this method is not the most accurate DIY pregnancy test.
